To Our Valued Customers,
Recently during routine testing by the state of California the pesticide Alicarb Sulfoxide was found in fresh ginger being sold by a California Based fresh ginger packer at a grocery store in central California. The tainted ginger found was specific to a small lot and not an industry-wide recall. Ful-Flav-R Foods uses Chinese ginger in our Minced Ginger (F605) and is occasionally blended with Hawaiian ginger in our Ground Ginger (F601). However, the ginger that we purchase is grown in a different region of China than where the affected ginger was grown. With the discovery of Aldicarb in Chinese ginger Ful-Flav-R Foods decided to test all current inventories containing Chinese ginger for pesticides and specifically Aldicarb Sulfoxide. Retain samples from all loads of ginger we received during this processing season have also been tested even though there may not be any remaining product in our inventory. We have recently received the results of these tests and no Aldicarb Sulfoxide or other pesticides were found in any of our ginger.
To ensure our Ginger Products will remain free of pesticide contamination all Chinese ginger received by Ful-Flav-R Foods will be tested for pesticides including Aldicarb Sulfoxide.
Yours truly,
John Small, Plant Manager
